VWHS plans open house for parents

Van Wert High School Principal Bob Priest announces the annual open house for parents will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 2.

Parents/guardians are asked to meet at 7 p.m. in the high school-middle school commons area for introductory comments by Priest. Following that, each of the seven periods in a typical school day will be held in order that classroom teachers can explain their program of instruction to those in attendance.

The principal encourages all parents/guardians attend and stresses the importance of understanding the concept of open house. Questions concerning individual student performance are to be discussed with teachers at parent-teacher conferences scheduled for Monday, November 23, and Tuesday, November 24. Open house is a time for teachers to welcome parents and share their curriculum with the public.

Parents/guardians are asked to obtain a schedule of classes from the son or daughter in order the observe the following schedule on September 2:

• 7-7:15 p.m. – Meet with Bob Priest in the commons area
• 7:20-7:27 p.m. – First period classes
• 7:31-7:38 p.m. – Second period classes
• 7:42-7:49 p.m. – Third period classes
• 7:53-8 p.m. – Fourth period classes
• 8:04-8:11 – Fifth period classes
• 8:15-8:22 – Sixth period classes
• 8:26-8:33 – Seventh period classes.
