Mary Cleota McCammon
Mary Cleota “Ode” McCammon, 106, died at 2:15 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Van Wert Manor, where she was a resident for the past 3½ years.
She was born August 21, 1909, in Jennings Township, the daughter of William H. and Hannah (Masters) Harter, who both preceded her in death.
She retired from Federal-Mogul Corporation’s National Seal Division after 25 years of service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert, its Martha Ruth Group, Converse Garden Club and the National Seal Silver Seals Retiree Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet (Bob) Becker; two grandchildren, Lori Ann Becker of Van Wert and Alan L. (Dawn) Becker of Edon; three great-grandchildren, Adam L. (Mandy) Becker and Ryan S. Becker, both of Lutz, Florida, and Ciara N. Becker of Van Wert; and one sister, Evelyn Harter of Spencerville.
A son-in-law, Robert Lee Becker; two brothers, Emery “Dick” Harter and John Harter; and two sisters, Emma Forwerck and Fannie Oaches, also preceded her in death.
She had been married to Carl Rhoades, Ted Wagner and Dr. F.A. McCammon, all of who preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery in Converse.
Calling hours are from 2-6 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, at the funeral home.
