VW golfers lose WBL match to Bulldogs

LIMA — The Van Wert golf team traveled to Tamarac Golf Course to take on the Elida Bulldogs in Western Buckeye League action, a match the Bulldogs won by 17 strokes, 183-200.

Jared Hernandez was low man for the Cougars with a 42, which was third overall, and teammate Colton Deschner followed with a 49, Jacob Covey carded a 52 and Nathan Bidlack shot a 57.

Medalist honors were shared by a pair of Bulldogs, Drew Sarno and Brett Shook who each carded a 41.  With the loss, the Cougars drop to 0-5 in the WBL, and will finish their home matches next with Lima Bath on Tuesday and Celina on Thursday.
