Rita Siedel

Rita Siedel, 88, of Rockford, died at 10:12 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born October 20, 1926, in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Murray and Helen (Deutsch) Resnick, who both preceded her in death. On February 16, 1944, she married Harold “Sy” Siedel, who died July 17, 1966.

Survivors include three daughters, Kathy (Jim) Wilkeson and Ellen (Ed) Peterson-Mosby of Dade City, Florida, and Sandra Siedel of Tampa, Florida; three brothers, Marvin (Linda) Resnick of Edmond, Oklahoma, Robert (Phyllis) Resnick of Flushing, New York, and Norman (Geri) Resnick of Boca Raton, Florida; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

A son, Alan Siedel; and one granddaughter, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 12, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Dave Souers officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

Calling hours are from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
