Cougar girls win tennis match over Bath

The Van Wert girls’ tennis team edged Lima Bath 3-2 in a Western Buckeye League match played earlier this week.
The Cougars’ No. 1 singles player, Ali Moreland, defeated Kylee Morris of Bath 6-0, 6-0, while the No. 1 doubles team of Katie Trittschuh and Phoebe Eutsler downed Lady Wildcats Codi Handorn and Hannah Truman 6-1, 6-0, and the No. 2 doubles team of Cheyenne Brown and Sierra Blackmore defeated Cady Carmen and Nancy Stechschulte of Bath 6-1, 6-4.
Van Wert’s No. 2 singles player, Kali Agler, lost 6-2, 6-4 to Charis Barnes of Bath, while No. 2 singles player Emma Verville, was defeated by Bath’s Baylie Brock 6-1, 6-1.
The Cougars are now 5-4 overall and 4-3 in the WBL, while Bath falls to 0-9 and 0-5 in league play.
