Day of Caring food, blood drives Friday

Just a reminder that the Van Wert County Day of Caring Food and Blood Drive will be held this Friday, September 25.

Donations for the food drive can be made today through Thursday, September 24, by placing food and personal care items in barrels located at businesses, banks and schools around Van Wert County. The items collected will help restock The Salvation Army Food Pantry, which provides food and other items to needy families. Also, as part of the Day of Caring, the American Red Cross will hold a blood drive at Trinity Friends Church, from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. To schedule an appointment, download the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit www.redcrossblood.org or call 800.733.2767).

The United Way of Van Wert County encourages area residents to “Live United’ and thanks them for their support.
