Cougar volleyball team defeats Kenton

Van Wert volleyball information

The Van Wert varsity volleyball team defeated Kenton in three sets: 25-22, 25-7 and 25-15.

For Van Wert, Peyton Fleming was 20 for 20 serving, with 5 aces; and Landrie Koontz and Ella Butler added 3 aces each. Megan Spray was 42/44 setting with 15 assists, and Fleming also led the Cougars with 6 kills and Emma Kohn added 5.

Van Wert is now 2-8 on the season.

The Van Wert junior varsity team also beat Kenton, in two sets, to go to 6-4 on the season.

The Cougar varsity and JV teams will next be in action Saturday against Wayne Trace and Bryan at Bryan.
