Man gets prison for probation violation
Van Wert independent
Three people appeared in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday.
Zach Craig, 36, of Van Wert, admitted to violating his community control during a hearing before Probate-Juvenile Judge Kevin Taylor by testing positive for cocaine.
Craig was sentenced to 18 months in prison, consecutive to a nine-month sentenced handed down last week, with credit for 423 days already served.
Judge Martin Burchfield also heard two cases on Wednesday.
Michael Malone, 30, of Van Wert, entered a guilty plea to a prosecutor’s bill of information charging him with possession of heroin, a felony of the fifth degree. He then requested, and was granted, treatment in lieu of conviction, and his case was stayed pending successful completion of a substance abuse treatment program.
Ryanne Doner, 34, of Van Wert, changed her plea to guilty to an amended charge of attempted trafficking in heroin, a misdemeanor of the first degree (reduced from a fifth-degree felony count of trafficking in heroin).
Sentencing was scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, October 28.
