John Holden

John “Jack” Holden, 82, of Delphos, died at 5:10 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at his residence, surrounded by family.

He was born November 30, 1932, in Delphos, the son of John D. and Marcella (Hageman) Holden, who both preceded him in death. On June 11, 1955, he married Patricia (Schmidt) Holden, who survives in Delphos.

Other survivors include eight children, Dave (Joyce) Holden of Houston, Texas, Kathy (Gary) Wurst of Ottoville, Debbie (Randy) Pierce of Convoy, Jim (Sara) Holden of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Lori Holden of Delphos, Michelle (Chuck) Beining of Lima, Chris (Jason) Cross of Delphos, and Tricia (Charlie Miramonti) Kreuter of Indianapolis, Indiana; 21 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Larry (Patty) Holden of Bellbrook and Father Robert Holden of Wauseon; one sister, Beverly Hickey of Kalida; and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Morgan of Manteca, California, and Virginia Will of Delphos.

A sister, Ann Davie; three sisters-in-law, Bernadine Will, Rose Will, and Rita Will; and five brothers-in-law, Gerald Hickey, Jerry Will, Bernard Will, M. James Will, Richard Morgan, and Anthony Schmidt.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 8, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Robert Holden officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Delphos, with graveside military honors rendered by the Delphos Veterans Council.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake will be held at 7:30 that evening.
