Van D. Cross

Van D. Cross, 69, of Rockford, died at 7:19 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2015, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center following a lengthy illness.

He was born June 25, 1946, the son of Carl D. and Anna R. (Brown) Cross, who both preceded him in death. On September 3, 2014, he married the former Rubia Stelzer, who survives in Rockford.

Other survivors include a son, Gabriel Cross, at home; one stepdaughter, Maria Burogo, at home; and a sister, Sue Counterman of Sun City, Florida.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Tom Brunstrup officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

Calling hours are from noon-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
