Board of Elections sets early voting hours

The Van Wert County Board of Elections reminds voters that early voting for the November 3 General Election is currently going on in its office.

Voting will be done in the Commissioners’ Conference Room located next door to the Election Board, 120 E. Main St. in Van Wert. Effective Monday, October 26, office hours are 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. Saturday and Sunday hours will be as follows: October 31, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and November 1, from 1-5 p.m.

Election artwork 11-6-12To vote an early ballot a person must be a registered voter and provide either the last four digits of their social security number or driver’s license number (XX123456). If neither item is available, a copy of a current and valid photo identification (state ID card, government ID, etc.) may be used.

The photo ID must show the name and address of the voter or a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check or other government document that shows the voter’s name and current address.

Ballots may be obtained by mailing a signed request to the office (120 E. Main St., Van Wert, OH 45891) along with date of birth, driver’s license number (XX123456) or last four numbers of the individual’s social security number, and an address where the ballot may be sent. Ballots cannot be mailed out of the Board of Elections office after noon Saturday, October 31.
