Dean L. Black
Dean L. Black of Broomfield, Colorado, died at 9:30 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2015, at home, surrounded by his family, after a lengthy struggle with various types of cancer.
He was born May 2, 1933, in Pleasant Township, Van Wert County, the son of Don S. and Gertrude Mae (Tomlinson) Black, who both preceded him in death. On April 8, 1956, in Van Wert County, he married Diane E. (Nichols) Black, who survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Eric (Kim) Black and Kevin (Judy) Black; three grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Jeanette (Hoersten) Black of Payne and Jean (Larry) Now of Montezuma; a brother-in-law, Gordon Morgan of Convoy; and several nieces and a nephew.
His stepmother, Cleo (Gilroy) Musser Black; a brother, Frederick H. Black; and one sister, Charlotte E. (Black) Morgan, also preceded him in death.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 31, at Tomlinson Cemetery in Mercer County, with the Rev. Thomas Emery officiating.
Calling hours are from 3-7 p.m. Friday, October 30, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert.
