Leota G. Johnson

Leota G. Johnson, 94, of Ohio City, died at 2:16 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

She was born February 19, 1921, in Middle Point, the daughter of Raymond C. and Eva Almeda (Snyder) Pangle, who both preceded her in death. On February 6, 1942, she married Ervin Willard Johnson, who died December 18, 1985.

Survivors include two daughters, Diana (Paul) Hines and Sue Wenning, both of Rockford; a sister, Mary Pangle of Dublin; a daughter-in-law, Gerry Johnson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Two sons, Donald E. Johnson and Richard Johnson; two brothers, Kenneth and Carl Pangle; a sister, Wileta Robbins; and one daughter-in-law, Brenda Johnson, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 19, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Thurlow Steffy of Rockford United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Mercer Memory Gardens near Celina.
