M. Virginia Johnson

M. Virginia Johnson of Van Wert died at noon Thursday, November 26, 2015, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

She was born September 29, 1920, in Wetzel, the daughter of Dewey Swartz and Verna (Hammons) Swartz Allen, who both preceded her in death. She married Glen H. Johnson, who also preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Johnson and David (Linda) Johnson, both of Port Orange, Florida; two grandchildren, April McGuire and Heather Munoz; and a great-grandson, Tadd Munoz.

A sister, Georgia Miller, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Johnson retired from Continental Can Company in Van Wert after 40 years of service. She was a member of First United Brethren in Christ Church in Van Wert and had also attended Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon Saturday, November 28, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Neil Hammons officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

Calling hours are from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
