Hirsch awarded insurance designation

Central Insurance Companies employee Michele Hirsch has been awarded the professional insurance designation Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) from the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters.

This is a professional credential recognized throughout the risk management and insurance business.  She has completed a rigorous eight-course program of academic, ethical, and experience requirements.

Hirsch lives in Celina with her husband, Jerry, and their sons, Zach and Cayden. She is a member of the International Association of Insurance Professionals (IAIP), is chairperson of the Immaculate Conception Catholic School Advisory Board, and serves on the Immaculate Conception Religious Education Committee.

Hirsch graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University in 1992 and began her career at Central on December 31, 1998, as a personal lines underwriter for the Central Regional Office.  In 2004 she became a senior personal lines underwriter and, most recently in July, Hirsch moved to a personal lines underwriting specialist position within Central’s Home Office.

Hirsch also holds the following designations: Certified Professional Insurance Women (CPIW), Associate in General Insurance (AINS), Associate in Personal Insurance (API), and Associate in Management (AIM).

The American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters is a nonprofit educational organization founded in 1942 to establish a program of professional education and certification for those employed in the property and casualty insurance business.
