Fitness training business gets city loan

On Monday, the city’s Revolving Loan Fund closed on a $35,000 loan for Gen-X Training Studio LLC.
Kelly Stevenson and Trisha Breese, owners of Gen-X, requested a loan for internal remodeling, such as completion of drywall, a new floor, and more functional ductwork for the HVAC unit, and specialty fitness equipment. The owners recently purchased 217 S. Washington St. in Van Wert to expand their growing fitness studio.
Stevenson and Breese opened Gen-X Training Studio, LLC in January of this year in the basement of the YWCA of Van Wert County. The business has experienced rapid growth in the past year and the owners wanted a facility of their own to offer improved access to fitness equipment and a space for their classes and personal training work.
Gen-X is a functional training studio offering personal training, boxing, fitness classes, and nutritional support services. Breese, the studio’s head trainer, noted that the expansion offers increased ability to reach members of the community and educate the community on functional training.
Breese described functional training as, “movement with strength, stability, and balance and involves plyometric work.”
Gen-X Training Studio LLC will open in January 2016. For more information, please visit the studio’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/GenXTrainingStudio/?fref=ts or call 419.605.2934.
