Doris M. Roach-Recht, 86, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born in Sturgis, Michigan, Doris loved working with children as a teacher with Leo Elementary School in Fort Wayne for 20 years.

She was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, the Eagles of Albion, American Legion Auxiliary of Albion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary of Kendallville, Indiana; Retired Teachers of Indiana, and the Rosary Sodality of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church.

Surviving are her daughters, Beth (Bill) Silkworth and Mary (Randall) Miller, both of Fort Wayne; three sons, Philip (Tracy) Roach of Fort Wayne, Michael (Sara) Roach of Redwood Falls, Minnesota, and David (Laura) Roach of Delphos; two stepdaughters, Patricia (Skip) Parisot of Fort Wayne and Mary (David) Woods of Garrett, Indiana; one stepson, John (Kathy) Recht of Fort Wayne; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Her first husband, Thomas Roach; second husband, Melvin Recht; parents Paul and Marie Shook; and a sister, Lois Green, also preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 19, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2130 Pemberton Drive in Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne.

Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 18, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park, 4017 Maplecrest Road, where a rosary service will be held at 3:30 that afternoon, and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Preferred memorials: St. Anne Home and Retirement Community, or Masses.
