Cougar boy bowlers win, girls lose match

The Cougar boys won and the girls lost in bowling matches held this past weekend.

The Van Wert Cougars defeated the Ottawa-Glandorf Titans 2,891 to 2,405 at home in Olympic Lanes over the weekend. High games for the Cougars included Caleb Fetzer, with a 268 and a 225, while Evan Goodwin also bowled a 209 and a 201.

The boys will look to next Saturday, December 26, where they face Lima Temple Christian in Ottawa.

The Van Wert Cougars girls lost over the weekend to reigning state champion Wapakoneta 2,723 to 1,793. High Scores for the Lady Cougars included Ashley Matthews’ 156 and Cloey Spry, with a 140. The girls will have a bye week this weekend to rest and recover before taking on the Celina Bulldogs at Celina on January 2.
