Gertrude M. Rowland

Gertrude M. Rowland, 95, of Van Wert, died at 2:50 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

She was born December 17, 1920, in Van Wert, the daughter of Harry and Nellie (McClain) Dixon, who both preceded her in death. She married Carl G. Rowland, who also preceded her in death.

Survivors include two children, Robert (Barbara) Rowland of Cullman, Alabama, and Michael (Colleen) Rowland of Middle Point; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Brenda Rodgers; two brothers, James Dixon and Harry Dixon; and three sisters, Margaret Cline, Joann Harnesh and Jane Kimbel, also preceded her in death.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at noon Monday, January 4, at Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating.

Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, January 3, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert.
