Marcile H. Rinard, 99, of Van Wert, passed away at 5:31 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at her residence.

She was born September 14, 1916, in Delphos, the daughter of George and Mary (Geise) Brickner, who both preceded her in death. On June 23, 1938, she married Robert Vaughn Rinard Jr., who died January 30, 2003.

Survivors include a son, Alan V. (Beth) Rinard of Westerville; four daughters, Elaine Marcile Varalla of Van Wert, Kathy M. (Al) Cook of Dublin, Linda Snyder of College Station, Texas, and Debra Rinard of Phoenix, Arizona; eight grandchildren, Barbara (Jeffrey) Horvath, Michelle Rinard, Tyler Cook, Erin (Brandon) Huff, Leah Storey-Cook, Eric (Natalie) Snyder, Christopher Snyder, and Jason (Gwen) Snyder; three great-grandchildren, Camryn Cook, Samuel Snyder, and Esme Snyder; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Payton Niswander, Logan Niswander, and Dylan Huff; one sister, Rita Myers of Lima; and a brother-in-law, Jack Paullus of Van Wert.

Four sisters, Margaret (Kenneth) Alexander, Delores (Don) Gribler, Irene (Ray) Ditto, and Jean Paullus; and three brothers, Arnold (Ruth) Brickner, Carl F. (Madge) Brickner, and Paul (Irma) Brickner, also preceded her in death.

Early in her marriage she was employed at Central Insurance company, but spent the majority or her life as a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Twigs organization, and a longtime volunteer at American Red Cross bloodmobiles.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016, with Father Stanley Szybka officiating.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 2-6 p.m. Friday, January 15, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert.

In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to the American Cancer Association, the American Heart Association, or St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church.
