DAR views old items

Shown are Sue Miller, Alice Morris, and Ann Miller, along with Morris’ cast-iron child’s stove. The Millers shared many of their father’s toys dating from The Great Depression years, including hand-carved items such as a wooden boat and a dog doorstop. Shirley Temple paper dolls, a Lionel train, a Metal Craft truck, a car with a rumble seat, a Roy Rogers doll, a ViewMaster viewing system, and a Teddy Bear, were shared, along with the stories behind them. A total of 16 members and guests attended the December meeting of Isaac Van Wart DAR Chapter held at CJ Highmark in Celina. The next meeting will be at 6 p.m. on February 1 at Van Wert Massotherapy, 149 E. Central Ave. (DAR photo)
