Dr. Harry J. Braun III, 74, of Findlay, passed away Friday, January 1, 2016.

He was born September 3, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Harry J. and Georgia L. (Thurman) Braun II, who both preceded him in death.

Harry was a loving husband to Alna Braun for 49 years; proud father of Sarah (Scott) Hayes of Forest, Virginia, and Matthew (Tina) Braun of Van Wert; Papa to Jeff, Jacob, Joshua, Emma, Abbey, Megan and Eliza; brother-in-law to Ruthie and David Mulder; uncle to Katie Mulder, Steve Molder, Michael (Mary) Mulder; and friend to many.

Harry graduated from Southwest Missouri State University and earned his doctorate in education administration from the University of Missouri. He retired as college president from Danville Area Community College in Danville, Illinois. Following his retirement, Harry served as the vice president of Winebrenner Theological Seminary in Findlay. He was a member of the New Life Assembly of God, where he served on the staff as the life group director.

Harry loved to travel, collect model trains, play bluegrass music on his Dobro, but most of all he enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, January 8, at New Life Assembly of God Church, 3120 Norcrest St. in Findlay, with Pastor Dutch VanderVlucht officiating. A private family burial will take place at a later date.

Calling hours are from 2-7 p.m. Thursday, January 7, and an hour prior to services at the church.
