Carl Linn Jr.

Carl Linn Jr., 90, of Rockford, died at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at his residence.

He was born March 6, 1925, in Mercer County, the son of Carl and Hulda (Bollenbacher) Linn, who both preceded him in death. On March 20, 1949, he married the former Phyllis Eileen Shirk, who died October 31, 2010.

Survivors include two children, Dan (Jennifer) Linn of Willshire, and Gail (Steve) Godfrey of Portland, Indiana; and two grandchildren.

A stepbrother, Lester Miller, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, January 8, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ near Rockford, with Pastor Catherine Costello officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Calling hours are from 11 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the church.

Preferred memorials: The church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
