Homecoming week in “Knight Country”

By Haley Helm

After their two week holiday break, Crestview students returned to school and started to get back into their everyday routine. Some were sluggish and tired the first couple days; however, it being spirit week for homecoming in Knight Country got everyone a little more excited.

Monday started off with “pajama day”, so not much effort had to be put forth by most of the middle and high school students on their first day back. “It was nice because I could feel comfortable, but it makes me want to be on break again,” said Jada Preston.

The week continued with “dress like your favorite celebrity” on Tuesday, “fake an injury” on Wednesday, “animal day” on Thursday, and finally “Crestview spirit” day on Friday. A pep assembly will be held on Friday afternoon to get everyone excited for the activities held on Saturday.

The homecoming ceremony will take place between the JV and varsity games against Arlington on Saturday, January 9, and the dance will be held in the auditoria following the varsity game. The freshman attendant for this year, Codi Miller said, “I am honored to represent the freshman class and I’m looking forward to all the events this weekend.”

Crestview’s show choir “Knight Vision” has been working hard all week preparing for their first official competition this Saturday. KV, along with the jazz band, is performing at Southern Wells in Indiana at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Courtney Cearns is ready to show friends and family their show for this upcoming competition season. “I am excited but also nervous because it’s the first competition this year,” she said.
