Randy L. Gutierrez

Randy L. Gutierrez, 59, of Rockford, died at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born December 6, 1956, in Van Wert, the son of John and Josephine (Marez) Gutierrez, who both preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanene (Rutledge) Gutierrez of Rockford; children Jordan Gutierrez of Costa Mesa, California, and Cassie Gutierrez of Rockford; his wonderful grandchildren, Logan and Lucy or Rockford; father- and mother-in-law, Jack and Phyllis Rutledge of Celina; siblings John (Paula) Gutierrez of Paulding, Diann (Jeff) Ebel of Grover Hill, Gil (Denise) Gutierrez of Van Wert, Sue Szuch of Elida, Lou (Steve) Biberstine, twin brother Ron Gutierrez of Tallahassee, Florida, David (Marsha) Gutierrez of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Bernadine (Klayton) Hooper of Cloverdale; and Mariea (Dan) Moreland of Van Wert, along with many nieces and nephews.

A brother, Daniel Gutierrez; one sister, Theresa Gutierrez; and his brother-in-law, David Szuch, also preceded him in death.

Randy was a retired welder for Strick Corporation in Monroe, Indiana, and finished his working career as an employee of the Van Wert Rural King store. He also served Rockford as a member of its Village Council.

Rosary and funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday, January 15, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Father Charles Obinwa officiating.

Calling hours are from 2-6 p.m. Friday, January 15, at the funeral home.
