Stephen A. Sherer

Stephen A. “Doc” Sherer, 49, of Pineville, North Carolina, died Monday, January 25, 2016, at Levine Dickson Hospice House in Charlotte, North Carolina, following an illness of approximately six months.

He was born November 19, 1966, the son of Carolyn J. (Tomlinson) Sherer, who survives in Haviland, and Lester H. Sherer, who preceded him in death.

He began drumming at age 3 when he received his first set of drums and, by age 12, he was playing with many local bands. At age 18, he left Haviland to play for bands that traveled throughout the United States. He settled in North Carolina for a career in music equipment sales.

In addition to his mother, survivors include a brother, Roger (Vicky) Sherer of Paulding, one sister, Karla (Rick) Webb of Grover Hill; two nieces, Tammy Sherer of Paulding and Dawn (Travis) LaFountain of Grover Hill; a great-niece; two great-nephews; and many cousins.

To honor Stephen’s request, there will be no funeral services or visitation.
