Schaufelberger to sing in All-Ohio Choir

Jakob Schaufelberger, a four-year member of the Van Wert High School Vocal Music Department, has been selected to perform in Cincinnati this Saturday, January 30, as a member of the 2016 All-State Choir of the Ohio Music Education Association.

Schaufelberger, the son of Matt and Julie Schaufelberger, is a senior at Van Wert High School and sings bass in the Concert Choir. He has been chosen four times for the OMEA District III Honors Choir and has also received superior ratings at OMEA Solo & Ensemble contests.

He is a member of the Van Wert High School Select Choir and cantors and sings with his church’s choir. He is a member of the Van Wert High School football team, and participates in school musicals

Approximately 100 of the best high school vocalists from across Ohio will participate in the All State Choir. They will perform at the OMEA State Convention at the Duke Energy Center. Dr. Paul Rardin, who is the Elaine Brown Chair of Choral Music at Temple University in Philadelphia, will conduct the choir.
