Carole A. Conn

Carole A. Conn, 72, of Van Wert, died at 10:45 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 2016, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert, following an extended illness.

She was born October 15, 1943, in Van Wert, the daughter of Charles A. Eberle Sr. and Juanita V. (Lee) Eberle, who both preceded her in death.

Survivors include a granddaughter, Braden Swanson of Fort Wayne, Indiana; two brothers, Charles “Chuck” (Shelly) Eberle of Van Wert and Richard “Rick” (Clara) Eberle Sr. of Middle Point; a very special friend, Linda Blue of Van Wert; and several nieces and nephews.

A son, David B. Shelton; and three husbands, David L. Shelton, Paul Miller, and Leonard Conn, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Conn worked for many years at the General Electric Plant in Decatur, Indiana, and for Teleflex Corporation in Van Wert.  She was also a former Betty Crocker Ohio state cherry pie-baking champion and attended Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, February 19, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Steve Heilshorn officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert. 

Calling hours are one hour prior to services at the funeral home. 

Preferred memorials: American Cancer Society and American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
