Area man charged with robbery, burglary

An Indiana man charged with burglary and robbery offenses was arraigned in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday.

Christopher Stemen, 32, of Decatur, Indiana, entered not guilty pleas to four counts of aggravated burglary, all felonies of the first degree; one count of burglary, a second-degree felony; and two counts of robbery, each a felony of the second degree.

Judge Martin Burchfield set a $100,000 cash bond in the case, with Stemen to have no contact with alleged victims in the case.

A pretrial conference was scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 2.

Also Wednesday, Kiersten Pollock, 24, of Convoy, admitted to violating her treatment in lieu of conviction program. Her case was set for sentencing at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 30.
