Area man charged with robbery, burglary

An Indiana man charged with burglary and robbery offenses was arraigned in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday.

Court artwork 12-2013 copyChristopher Stemen, 32, of Decatur, Indiana, entered not guilty pleas to four counts of aggravated burglary, all felonies of the first degree; one count of burglary, a second-degree felony; and two counts of robbery, each a felony of the second degree.

Judge Martin Burchfield set a $100,000 cash bond in the case, with Stemen to have no contact with alleged victims in the case.

A pretrial conference was scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 2.

Also Wednesday, Kiersten Pollock, 24, of Convoy, admitted to violating her treatment in lieu of conviction program. Her case was set for sentencing at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 30.
