Local runners compete at indoor meet

DEFIANCE — This past Friday, Lincolnview and Van Wert runners competed at the Defiance College High School Track Meet.

Anna Gorman of Lincolnview was runner-up in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:26.67, which qualifies her to run at the State Indoor Track Meet at Akron University on March 5.

Also qualifying was Emma Kohn of Van Wert, who won the girls 400-meter dash Friday night in a 1:05.15. She also qualified for the state meet in the triple jump event and is currently ranked second in the state in Division II/III.

Other Lancers participating in the meet were Madison Dickson in the girls’ 800-meter run (3:16.09), Karter Tow (4:55.03) and Austin Elick (5:11.54) in the boys’ 1600-meter run, Elick (2:21.84) in the boys’ 800-meter run, Dickson (6:14.96) in the girls’ 1600-meter run, and Brayden Langdon (1:08.41) in the boys’ 400-meter dash.
