Patriots group to host judge candidate

VW independent/submitted information

The Van Wert County Heart Land Patriots will meet Tuesday, March 8, at 7 p.m., in the Fireside Room of Trinity Friends Church, 605 N. Franklin St. in Van Wert.

Special guests will include Cheryl Blakely of Findlay, the women’s candidate for the First Ohio Senate District’s State Republican Central Committee. Blakely has been an active leader in the local Findlay and Hancock County Patriot movement, as well as many statewide conservative organizations promoting a return to conservative and responsible constitutional government.

She also will be supported in her candidacy that evening by Jim Horton of Fulton County, the current male representative on the State Central Committee.

Both Blakely and Horton will speak of the challenges faced by conservative members on the State Central Committee to gain a voice against the majority establishment members.

Also scheduled to speak on her candidacy as a judge for the Third Ohio District Court of Appeals is Amy Ikerd, who currently lives in Coldwater. Ikerd missed the Republican Women’s Candidates Night because of other campaign commitments, but is hoping to personally share her qualifications and enthusiasm for a position on the Court of Appeals.

Also that night, there will also be an update on the volume of early ballots being cast leading up to the March 15 primary election.

Further information on this meeting and the Heart Land Patriots’ busy 2016 agenda may be obtained by contacting Rev. Keith Stoller at 419.968.2869.
