Knights at the next level
By Alexandra Boroff

At the sold-out game versus Lincolnview last week the boys’ basketball team fell in district finals. They were district runners-up and Connor Lautzenheiser lead the team with 36 points. This was the last high school game for seniors Connor Lautzenheiser, Cyler Miller, and Cody Mefferd. The ending score was 51 to 52 with Lincolnview taking the win.
Lautzenheiser recently accepted a scholarship from Saint Francis, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to further his career in basketball. Lautzenheiser was awarded Northwest Conference Player of the Year and also Division IV District 8 Player of the Year. He loved being a basketball player for the Knights and will always remember where he came from but he is ready to further his career with the Cougars. Lautzenheiser said, “My senior season was special with many new teammates and friends, just like my whole career. I will miss high school basketball dearly, but I am excited to join the Saint Francis basketball family.”
Seniors are getting ready for graduation and their next step in life. With filling out scholarships and applying for colleges, graduation is right around the corner. “Filling out scholarships and getting ready for college is a lot of work, but I am looking forward to going to college, furthering my education, and having more freedom,” said Luke Bauer.
Eighth graders and high school students have started filling out there schedules for next year already. The eighth graders will take on a big change moving from middle school to high school. Juniors will start to feel the pressure as they move from juniors to seniors. “I prepared my senior schedule to put me in a good position for college as I hope to graduate from Crestview and hopefully join the many others that attend a university in America,” said junior Braden Van Cleave.
