A Middle Point man was sentenced Friday in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court on misdemeanor child custody charges.
Don Carter, 41, withdrew his motion seeking to withdraw his guilty plea to two counts of interference with custody, both misdemeanors of the first degree.
Judge Martin Burchfield then sentenced Carter to two years of community control, to include 120 days in jail on each count, to be served consecutively through electronically monitored house arrest.
He was also ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation, and any treatment recommended, and to follow all orders of any other court.
Carter was also ordered to pay $1,700 in restitution to the Van Wert Police Department for the cost of returning him to Van Wert from Arizona.
