Oratorical Contest winners

The Van Wert Optimist Club held its annual Oratorical Contest Thursday, March 10, at Willow Bend Country Club. The Oratorical Contest features speeches given by students on a certain theme. Each year the theme changes, with this year’s theme being “How Do I Bring Out the Best in Me”. Shown with Optimist Club member Greg Yinger are (from the left) Trinity Welch of Lincolnview High School, second place for girls; Courtney Cearns of Van Wert, first place for girls; and Calahan Wolfrum of Van Wert, first place for boys.  Van Wert Optimist Club members meet weekly at noon Thursdays at Willow Bend Country Club.
