Heart Land Patriots set energy meeting

The Van Wert County Heart Land Patriots will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, in the Fireside Room at Trinity Friends Church, 605 N. Franklin St. in Van Wert.

Special guest for the evening will be Matt Berry, manager of community relations at Midwest Electric Cooperative, based in St. Marys. Berry has served in his present position for the last 16 years, and previously held a similar position with Great Lakes Energy Cooperative in Newaygo, Michigan.

Berry’s presentation will focus on environmental regulations and renewable energy policies on energy markets. His presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session, and area residents involved in both sides of the conflict concerning the proposed wind farm in southern Van Wert County will likely hear those issues and concerns addressed.
