Knight boys 5th in Versailles track meet

VERSAILLES — The Crestview boys’ track and field team competed in the 41 annual Versailles Tiger Classic this past Saturday.

The meet, the first for the Knights this season, resulted in a fifth-place finish among nine teams in the Orange Division, win by Minster.

The season thus begins with Crestview having a 4-4 record.

In individual results, Crestview senior Isaiah Kline won the 100-meter dash in 12.21 seconds, while the 4×200-meter relay team (Sage Schaffner, Jordan Perrott, Nick Springer, and Kline) finished second in 1:40.62, and the 4×100-meter relay team (Schaffner, Drew Kline, Isaiah Kline, and Springer) was third in 48.49 seconds.

In fourth place was the 4×800-meter relay team (Springer, Dylan Sparks, Adam Saylor, and Caleb Bagley) in 9:46.30, and the 4×400-meter relay team (Springer, Stock Grindell, Perrott, and Isaiah Kline) in 4:06.28.

Brayden Sellers was sixth in the shotput with a throw of 36 feet, 6 inches, while Perrott was sixth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 59.04 seconds. In seventh place was Clancey Morgan in the 110-meter hurdles, in a time of 21.23 seconds, while Schaffner was seventh in the 100-meter dash in 12.53 seconds. An eighth-place finish went to Bagley in the 1600-meter run, in a time of 5:14.05, and Ford Tatum in the shotput, with a put of 33 feet, 11.5 inches.

Both the Knight boys and girls will see action this Tuesday at a quad meet in Ottoville.
