Community band practice to begin soon

On Monday, April 25, the Van Wert Area Community Concert Band will begin rehearsals for the upcoming concert season. Rehearsals are held each Monday in the Van Wert High School band room, off Ohio 118, from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

The band is open to those wanting to play their musical instruments in a concert band. Current members vary in age and playing ability, but have the common interest of performing and making great band music. Members come from Van Wert, Lima, Delphos, Convoy, Spencerville, Chattanooga, Middle Point, Decatur (Indiana), and Rockford. It truly is a Van Wert area band.

Retired Parkway Band director Richard Sherrick directs the band, and his goal is to present a variety of music that is both musically enjoyable to the listener and challenging to the performer.
