Rose Ellen (Burley) Reeder

Rose Ellen (Burley) Reeder died Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Van Wert County Hospital, following a brief illness.

She was born July 12, 1926, in Van Wert, the daughter of William and Gertrude (Thompson) Burley, who both preceded her in death. On March 21, 1947, she married Clark Stanley “Dutch” Reeder, who died in 2002.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen (Richard) Cooper of Van Wert and Christine (Robert) Looser of Delphos; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a stepgreat-grandson; a sister, Dorothy Friemoth; one sister-in-law, Ruthie Burley; and many nieces and nephews.

Eight brothers, Woodrow, Ralph, Robert, Nolen, Gale, Dale, Donald, and her twin brother, Ross Burley; five sisters-in-law, Anna Lee Burley, Garnet Burley, Ruth Burley, Dorothy Burley, and Grace Burley; and a brother-in-law, Gene Friemoth, also preceded her in death.

A celebration of life will be conducted at noon Friday, April 22, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Van Wert, with the Rev. Scott Campbell officiating. A private family burial will be held at Ridge Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

Visitation is an hour prior to services Friday at the church.

Preferred memorials: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Marsh Foundation.
