Knights’ school year winds down

By Hannah Bowen

Last Tuesday, Erin Camenisch’s Spanish III class went on a field trip to El Paraiso, a Mexican supermarket and restaurant in New Haven, Ind. The class explored the supermarket and ate lunch at the restaurant. The class looked at different types of produce and snack foods from Mexico, and compared them to American supermarket prices.

“The Spanish trip was a great time. It let me get out of my shell and experience a different type of culture,” said junior Dylan Sparks.

Crestview’s 2016 Air Jam was held last Friday. Air Jam is a lip synching contest that allows students to relax for an afternoon and watch their classmates perform.

The winners of the 2016 Air Jam were Travis Lichtensteiger and Sonny Chorvas with their unique rendition of the song “Pretty Pink Tractor,” complete with their own “pretty pink pedal tractor.”

Sophomore Ally McCoy enjoyed their performance. “My favorite act was Sonny and Travis because Travis kept falling off his tractor and I couldn’t tell if it was on purpose or not,” she said.

As the school year comes to a close, Crestview students are taking multiple tests. This week and next, students are taking Advanced Placement (AP) exams. Juniors and seniors take AP courses to attempt to earn college credit by performing well on the test. This week, students took the AP Psychology, AP Literature, and AP United States History exams. Next week, students take the AP Government test and the AP Language and Composition.

“AP exams are a nice challenge, but I’m definitely glad they’re over,” said senior Noah Smith.
