With just a few weeks left to go, students at Crestview are anxiously awaiting summer. On Monday night, high school students gathered in the auditeria to have their annual academic awards night. Teachers handed out various awards to their students to commend their efforts and achievements throughout the year, as well as honored the top student from each grade. Several seniors also were given scholarships that night as well. “It was a huge honor to receive the awards because I wasn’t expecting to get much,” said Claire Zaleski.

Tomorrow, the high school will enjoy an afternoon full of excitement with Fun Day. Student Council will have several games for grades nine through twelve to compete in. Some games include an obstacle course/ relay race, water balloon toss, egg toss, and tug of war. “The egg toss is exciting because you never know if the egg is going to break on you or on the people around you,” said Braden Van Cleave.

The music department will put on their last concert of the year tomorrow night starting at 7:30 p.m. The seniors involved in band, chorus, and Knight Vision have mixed feelings about this being their last performance as a high school student at Crestview. “It’s very sad to think about my last performance ever tomorrow night. I’m really going to miss everyone and I don’t want it to end,” said Danielle Ray. The evening will consist of popular songs performed by the band and chorus, as well as Knight Vision’s competition show from this year.

The eighth graders left for their DC trip last Sunday and will be returning tomorrow morning. They have been experiencing a week full of gathering new information and have been visiting several historical monuments.
