The Salvation Army, in its new location at 120 N. Cherry St. since November 2015, used funds raised during the first phase of the campaign to set up temporary offices, a food pantry, and chapel at the new location.

During the campaign’s second phase, the Salvation Army divisional headquarters in Cincinnati promised to match pledges received in April and May dollar for dollar up to $50,000 of new money. So far, the capital campaign has received $450,000 in money and pledges, $50,000 short of the $500,000 goal.

Last year, the Salvation Army served 4,132 individuals with food, financial assistance, clothing, and school supplies. At Christmas time, 345 households received food baskets, 1,061 individuals received coats and other clothing items, and 597 children received toys.
