VWHS to have summer volleyball camp

Van Wert High School’s varsity volleyball program will host its summer volleyball camp Monday through Thursday, July 18-21, in the VWHS gymnasium.

The camp will be divided into high school (grades 9-12) and middle school/elementary (grades 5-8) divisions.

The high school camp will cover four days of volleyball instruction, led by Andi Wertenberger, former Bluffton University varsity volleyball player and former Ottoville High School varsity head coach. Both camps include a t-shirt for early registrants.

High school camp — varsity, 8-10 a.m.; junior varsity, 9-11 a.m.; freshmen, 10 a.m.-noon.

Cost for the high school camp is $40.

The middle school/elementary camp also includes four days of instruction from VWHS coaches and current and former players.

The middle school/elementary camp instruction times are from 3-5:30 p.m. each day. Cost is $30.

Registration must be completed and returned, along with payment, by Friday, July 1. Volleyball camp forms can be found at https://sites.google.com/site/vwvbcougars/home and can be mailed to Head Coach Matt Krites, 14505 Lincoln Highway, Van Wert, OH 45891. Checks should be written to “Van Wert Volleyball.” No student who wants to attend the camp will be denied. Those in need of financial assistance should contact Coach Krites.

Late registration is available, but those registering late will not receive a t-shirt or camp gift.
