Chad E. Cox

Chad E. Cox, 42, of Van Wert, died at 10:25 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016, shortly after arrival at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

He was born November 19, 1973, in Decatur, Indiana. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Christina (Rayer) and Rex Craig of Van Wert, and his father, Kenneth Cox of Florida.

Other survivors include two children, Mackenzie Cox of Van Wert and Corbin Cox of Rockford; two brothers, Jeremy Cox of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Nicholas Cox of Van Wert; a half-sister, Stephanie Hageman of Plainwell, Michigan; two stepsisters, Kari VanNatter of Grand Haven, Michigan, and Dana Schurman of Zeeland, Michigan; his paternal grandmother, Helen Friemoth of Columbus; and three nephews.

His maternal grandparents, Milford and Josephine Rayer, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 3, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Scott Campbell officiating.

Calling hours are noon until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
