Joan C. Lockhart

Joan C. Lockhart, 72, of Decatur, Indiana, died at 12:31 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born November 16, 1943, in Piqua, the daughter of Charles E. and Naomi G. (McCoy) Wheeler, who both preceded her in death. On December 9, 1961, she married Jimmy Alan Lockhart, who died March 21, 1998.

Survivors include three daughters, Stacy (Mike) Snider of Decatur, Dianne (Tracy) Chrisman of Neptune, and Beth Lockhart of Decatur; a son, Christopher (Gail) Lockhart of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Two children, Scott Alan Lockhart and Stephanie Lockhart; and a sister, Sharon Willette Hernandez, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 3, at First Church of God, with Pastor Jason Hollar officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.

Visitation is from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, June 2, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
