Body found in Maumee River identified

PAULDING — A body found in the Maumee River near the Ohio-Indiana line by people canoeing in Paulding County on May 28 has been identified.

The Lucas County Coroner’s Office said the body is that of Steven Pascal Oliver, 42, who was last known to reside in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Oliver was last seen on March 16 in Fort Wayne.

The coroner’s office said there were no signs of foul play discovered as part of the autopsy of Oliver’s body.

“Mr. Oliver had not been reported as a missing person,” said Paulding County Sheriff Jason K. Landers. “We learned he had ben living in shelters around the Fort Wayne area.”
