6 arraigned on indictments in CP Court

Six people were arraigned on grand jury indictments and five others were sentenced duringĀ hearings held Wednesday in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court.
Those indicted include the following:
Pablo Rivera, 61, of Convoy, entered not guilty pleas to two counts of corrupting another with drugs, each a felony of the fourth degree. Judge Martin Burchfield released him on a personal surety bond and ordered him to appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 22.
Sandra Conley, 53, of Sylvania, pleaded not guilty to one count of obtaining a dangerous drug by deception, a felony of the fourth degree. She was released on a surety bond and a pretrial conference was scheduled for 8 a.m. June 22.
Nathan Egly, 30, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, entered a not guilty plea to one count of possession of heroin, a felony of the third degree. He was released on a surety bond and a pretrial conference set for 8 a.m. June 22.
Paul Bakle, 32, of Van Wert, pleaded not guilty to a fourth-degree felony count of operating a vehicle while impaired. He was released on a surety bond, with the added specification that he not operate any vehicle, and will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. June 22.
Corey Evans, 47, of Van Wert, entered a not guilty plea to one count of possession of marijuana, a felony of the fifth degree, with the added specification that he used $1,490 in cash in the commission of the crime. He was released on a surety bond and a pretrial conference scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, June 23.
Joaquin Estrada, 41, of Van Wert, pleaded not guilty to an indictment charging him with aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony offense. He was released on a surety bond and a pretrial conference set for 8 a.m. June 22.
Those sentenced include the following:
Michael Reichert, 32, of Van Wert, was sentenced to 12 months in prison on a charge of theft, a fifth-degree felony. Judge Burchfield gave him credit for three days already served.
Brandon Story, 36, of Van Wert, was sentenced on multiple convictions on Wednesday. Story was sentenced to 12 months in prison on a charge of possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony; 15 months in prison on a charge of possession of heroin, a felony of the fourth degree, with the sentences to run concurrently. Judge Burchfield gave him credit for four days already served.
David Brooks, 32, of Delphos, was sentenced to five years of community control on a charge of possession of heroin, a felony of the fifth degree. His driverās license was also suspended for six months.
Lindsay Quintero, 25, of Van Wert, was given a year of community control on a charge of attempted obstruction of justice, a misdemeanor of the first degree.
Danny Ruiz, 41, of Van Wert, was sentenced to two years of community control on a domestic violence charge, a misdemeanor of the first degree. He was also sentenced to 90 days in jail, with work released, and must complete recommended programs, including substance abuse and domestic violence counseling.
Also Wednesday, Alisha Elder, 37, of Van Wert, admitted to violating her treatment in lieu of conviction program by screening positive for drugs. She was released on a surety bond, with daily drug testing, and will appear for sentencing at 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 9.
Van Wert County Probate-Juvenile Judge Kevin Taylor also heard a probation violation case. Napoleon Shurelds, 31, of Van Wert, admitted to violating his probation by being arrested for OVI and entering an establishment that serves alcohol. He was given three years of community control and 180 days in jail, with 89 days credit for time already served, as well as work release. He must also undergo a substance abuse assessment.
