Wayne F. Warnecke

Wayne F. Warnecke, 67, of Delphos, passed away at 5:48 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born January 23, 1949, in Lima, to Carl and Norma (Reindel) Warnecke, who both preceded him in death. On July 15, 1972, he married the former Alice Siefker, who survives in Delphos.

Other survivors include two daughters, Michelle “Shelly” Schulte and Melissa (Matt Metcalfe) Scalf, both of Delphos; a son, Scott (Laurie) Warnecke of Delphos; and eight grandchildren.

A sister-in-law, Phyllis Warnecke, also preceded him in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, July 1, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Dennis Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos, with military honors rendered by the Delphos Veterans Council.

Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, June 30, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake will be held at 7:30 p.m. that evening.
