White elected new VW Foundation trustee

The Van Wert County held its annual meeting on June 15. Foundation trustees voted to approve distribution of $822,850 in specific and general grants to more than 75 different organizations and to over 110 different projects, activities, or purposes.

The Foundation will also distribute over $663,500 in scholarships to nearly 210 students in 2016.

Mark White was elected as the 63rd trustee of The Foundation. White is president of Vancrest Management Corporation and has been involved in long-term health care and real estate development his entire career.

He is a graduate of Ohio Northern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in management. White has been active in the community and is currently serving on the board of the Van Wert Business Development Corporation, the Salvation Army Advisory Board, and is active at First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert, where he serves as treasurer. He is also on the advisory board of the Dicke College of Business at Ohio Northern University.

White and his wife, Michelle, are the parents of two children: Claire and Nicolaus.

The Van Wert County Foundation was established in 1925 to facilitate the mental, moral, intellectual, and physical welfare and advancement of the citizens of Van Wert County and other geographical areas, as may be directed by a donor.
