‘ET’ being shown after Lima Pops concert
VW independent/submitted information
Just a reminder that, while Fountain Park will be filled with music, patriotism, flag-waving, food, and fun, there will also be a blockbuster movie: E.T.: the Extra Terrestrial, shown after the concert.
The Lima Pops Orchestra starts the Holiday at Home celebration at 7 tonight. Following the concert, which will finish around 9 p.m., a huge movie screen will be inflated in front of the amphitheater in preparation of the movie showing. Approximate start time will be 9:30 this evening.
New Hope Recovery is providing food for sale during the concert out of the Rotary concession stand, then Main Street Van Wert will move in with popcorn and drinks to help area residents enjoy the movie.
E.T.: the Extra Terrestrial was a smash hit of Steven Spielberg’s back in 1982. It remained the all-time highest grossing movie for 11 years until Spielberg’s Jurassic Park replaced it. It is a timeless story of friendship and has been acclaimed as one of the top science fiction films of all-time.
Bring the entire family to enjoy the concert and then the outdoor movie. It is all free and open to the public, compliments of The Van Wert County Foundation.
