City flag football registrations accepted

The Van Wert Parks and Recreation Department is now taking registrations for its NFL Flag Football and Cheerleading Program.

These programs provide young participants with a fun and exciting opportunity to engage while learning lessons in teamwork. This year, two age categories will be offered for both programs: 5-7 and 8-10 year olds, with September 1, as the age cut-off date.

Depending on the number of participants/teams, 5-7 would cheer/play Tuesday evenings and 8-10 year olds would cheer/play Thursday evenings, with all games at Smiley Park. A registration form must be filled out for both programs to be able to participate.

Registration will be open through July 31, with forms available online, at the Parks Department website, and at the Jubilee Park Office.
